# Change Service User
When you install VirtualMetric, you enter a user account to use for task scheduler operations. If you select to use Active Directory authentication to monitor servers, VirtualMetric uses this user account. If you need to change this user account or update account password, please open **Task Scheduler** to do changes.
1\. **Right click** on **VirtualMetric Trigger** and click **End** from menu.
2\. Click **Yes** to confirm dialog.
3\. **Right click** on **VirtualMetric Trigger** and click **Properties** from menu.
4\. Click on **Change User or Group…** button.
5\. Type **new user account name**, click on **Check Names** and click on **OK** to close dialog.
6\. Click on **OK** to apply changes.
7\. Type **password** of user account and click on **OK** to close dialog.
8\. Then right click on **VirtualMetric Trigger** and click **Start** from menu.
9\. VirtualMetric Trigger will connect to VirtualMetric API and start monitoring in a few seconds.
