# Layout and Common Functions

The *Devices* tab is where the devices in your system monitored by VirtualMetric can be found.

<div align="center"><figure><img src="https://3741708824-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbhbshAPk7P4wdrLxisUn%2Fuploads%2FsWs8BmIzmoKtJTcpnetr%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=88568905-fff8-441c-83a0-709ce5e0e749" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

In this view:

1. The device tree is automatically generated based on device types
2. The metric tree shows the metrics for and the information about the selected server or group
3. The selected devices and metrics can be filtered
4. **Main Overview** shows various tables and charts

VirtualMetric uses the same layout on all reporting and monitoring pages. Further details are given below.

## Date Picker

You can use the datepicker to view all charts and reports in a specific date and time range.

Click the **Calendar** button to enable the datepicker.

<div align="center"><figure><img src="https://3741708824-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FbhbshAPk7P4wdrLxisUn%2Fuploads%2FPG0Y1oZk3abSZ0YFLB8k%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=e8b48403-3148-4db8-8689-b263a6ff1576" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

On the datepicker, you will see two items:

1. The quick date range selection menu

You can easily swap the date range with pre-defined ones. Click on the quick date range selection menu to see the available options.
