Layout and Common Functinalities
In the following, the different areas of the VirtualMetric Dashboard are described.
On this screen:
1: Main Dashboard area to show different reports and charts which are called as widgets.
2: Left menu to navigate between pages
3: Top bar to access different Dashboard pages
4: Current alarms group by severities
5: Control section to provide options to reports and charts
6: Top bar to access different Dashboard pages
VirtualMetric uses same layout on all report and monitoring pages. In the following sections, you can find more details.
Search
You can search clusters, servers, datastores and objects via search bar. You
Click Magnifier (🔍) button to enable search bar.
When you type your search criteria (IP, Hostname, Clustername etc.), VirtualMetric will give you results. You can click on search result to navigate to object.
Resize
You can resize some of the dashboard elements on the VirtualMetric Dashboard.
Move
You can change some of the dashboard elements positions on the VirtualMetric Dashboard.
Remove
You can remove some of the dashboard elements on the VirtualMetric Dashboard.
Export
You can export VirtualMetric widgets and its data into different data types.
Click on Export button to see chart export options.
On this screen:
Export Raw: Export usage data in CSV format with semicolon separated.
Export Json: Export chart source in Json format, so you can use it for programmatic access
Export PNG: Export chart itself in PNG format, so you can use it in email etc.
Export Widget: Export widget creates a json file which contains style of widget and data.
Clone Widget: Creates a clone of widget
Export Query: Creates a SQL Query for data
Export SQL: Creates a SQL Query for data
Expand Widget
You can expand widget and widget will be opened at new tab.
Zooming Y axis
You can zoom in or out to Y axis.
Filter
You can filter widget.
The columns, which is included in the widget, can be filtered.
Search Dashboard
Users can search dashboard.
Dashboard Operations
When you right click on dashboard, you can apply some operations
Add to Favorites: When you add a dashboard as your favorite, it will be shown under the favorite tabs at left panel.
Add to Playlist: You can add dashboards to a playlist, and when you play the list, the dashboards will switch between the selected ones.
Rename: You can change the name of dashboard.
Clone: You can duplicate the dashboard.
Copy: You can copy dashboard to other users, groups or everyone.
Share: You can share the dashboard with your organization or globally.
Scheduler: You can schedule and add action to dashboards.
Export: You can export dashboard. It will give the json output, you can use it while importing.
Expand: You can use the dashboards in fullscreen mode.
Reset: You can reset the dashboard.
Delete: You can delete the dashboard.
