Layout and Common Functinalities

In the following, the different areas of the VirtualMetric Devices tab are described.

On this screen:

1: The device tree is automatically generated by VirtualMetric based on types.

2: Metric tree shows the metrics and informations about the selected server or group in the device tree.

3: Selected devices and metrics can be filtered from this field.

4: Main Overview area to show different tables and charts.

VirtualMetric uses same layout on all report and monitoring pages. In the following sections, you can find more details.

Date Picker

You can use datepicker to view all charts and reports in specific date and time range.

Click Calendar button to enable datepicker.

On datepicker, you will see two sections:

1: Quick date range selection menu

2: Manual date range selection calendar

You can easily change date range with pre-defined date ranges. Click on quick date range selection menu to see options.

On quick selection menu, you will see following options:

Live Range: Enables use of Live timespan

Last 15 Minutes: to activate last 15 minutes on charts and reports

Last Hour: to activate last 60 minutes on charts and reports

Last 6 Hours: to activate last 6 hours on charts and reports

Last 24 Hours: to activate last 24 hours on charts and reports

Last 7 Days: to activate last 7 days on charts and reports

Last 30 Days: to activate last 30 days on charts and reports

Quick Range: Enables to check a timespan in a glance

Custom Range: Enables to define a custom range of timing

When you select an option, VirtualMetric will refresh charts and reports without reloading page.

After your selection, VirtualMetric will update Calendar and activate date range.

Quick date change only reflects on current page. If you navigate another page, you will see session default date range. You should save your data selection into session state.

You can also make custom date and time selection.

Select Custom on quick selection menu. This will activate custom date and time selection.

After your date selection on calendar, you can now also set custom time range.

When you set new time range, click Update to apply changes.

Global Filter

Global filter can be applied on devices and reports tabs.

To add global filter click on global filter.

Select type of device and object

Pin

Pin widget to windows is clicked, the pin locks the widget, keeping it visible even when switching between tabs.

Minimize Widget

When widget is minimized, only title will be visible.

Enable Grids

When you right click on a metric and click on enable grids, you can add/edit widgets on dashboard.

Search

You can search metrics from search field.

Other common functions can be found from dashboard common functionalities.
